Intros
Students and trainers
go-round, each sharing name, preferred pronoun, and one way you will use skills from this training in your life -- keep your sharing brief; listen for who you might want to buddy with in real life.
Reinforce wellness/buddy care
How many of you went home and actually took care of yourselves?
How we do (or don't) take care of ourselves is how we create Frankies or Johnnies.
Today
Facilitator
makes announcements:
Name tags: help people get to know you faster.
Ground rules: quick reminder.
Buddies: you will be with the same buddy all day. This starts now. This means all times, including getting up to go to the bathroom and during breaks. If you are not with your buddy, one or both of you might get "arrested" by someone.
Student volunteer
reads training agenda for the day off chart paper on the wall.
Facilitator
emphasizes breaks and lunch.
There will be a 10 minute break at about 10:30 this morning.
After the break, make sure you and your buddy have your quick-kit supplies on you for the scenarios and are dressed for the weather. If it rains, scenarios happen in the rain.
Lunch is at 12:30.
Training's over at 7:00 tonight.
Buddy check-in
Students
Get with their buddies and check in:
What have you done for yourself today?
What do you need to do?
Facilitator says
check in with your buddy whenever you need to today. For all intents and purposes you are now at an action. Help each other stay warm, dry, hydrated, and fed. Debrief at the end of the day.
